Greater Sudbury Seeks Input from Local Employers on Immigration Priorities
The City of Greater Sudbury is inviting hiring managers of local businesses to help shape the future of the Greater Sudbury Rural and Francophone Community Immigration Pilot programs.
The data collected will help identify priority sectors and National Occupation Classification (NOC) for upcoming intakes of both programs in 2026. Employer feedback will ensure the programs align with the region’s workforce needs and economic priorities for the upcoming year.
Hiring managers in the Greater Sudbury area are encouraged to complete the RCIP and/or FCIP surveys by visiting investsudbury.ca/rcip. The surveys will remain open until 11:59 p.m. on October 22, 2025.
The Rural Community Immigration Pilot (RCIP) and Francophone Community Immigration Pilot (FCIP) are unique permanent residence pathways for international workers, designed to address skilled labour shortages in Greater Sudbury and surrounding communities. Both programs support candidates who intend to reside in the community long term. If approved, applicants may be eligible to apply for permanent residency and an LMIA-exempt work permit.
The RCIP program focuses on attracting and retaining skilled workers in rural areas by connecting newcomers with employment opportunities in smaller communities. The FCIP program supports the growth of Francophone populations outside Quebec by facilitating the immigration of French-speaking candidates to communities with existing Francophone infrastructure and support.
The Sudbury RCIP and FCIP programs are delivered by the City of Greater Sudbury’s Economic Development division and funded by FedNor, the Greater Sudbury Development Corporation (GSDC), and the City of Greater Sudbury.
