The 5th BEV In-Depth Conference took place on Thursday, May 28th in Greater Sudbury, Ontario at Cambrian College.

This year’s conference tackled the theme of “Transforming the Critical Minerals Value Chain” featuring over 250 leaders from mining, automotive, defense, mineral processing, battery technology, clean energy, government, and more. Serving to advance the vision of a mines to battery electric economy, the conference explored ideas and solutions towards establishing a sustainable and ethical supply of domestic critical minerals, and the urgent need to develop our domestic battery materials processing infrastructure.

The 5^th BEV In-Depth Conference was presented by the City of Greater Sudbury, Cambrian College, the Centre for Excellence in Mining Innovation (CEMI), the Electric Vehicle Society, Frontier Lithium, Laurentian University, NORCAT, and the Ontario Centre of Innovation (OCI), and in partnership with the Automotive Parts Manufacturers’​ Association (APMA), Electric Autonomy Canada, Kingston Economic Development and MineConnect.

This year’s conference was the anchor event of Mining the Future Week, alongside NORCAT’s Mining Transformed underground tech exhibition and the MICA Demo and Networking Night – both showcasing emerging mining technologies and strengthening industry collaboration.
