Greater Sudbury Development Corporation Seeks New Members
The Greater Sudbury Development Corporation (GSDC), an 18-member volunteer board of directors focused on economic development for the City of Greater Sudbury, is seeking engaged residents for appointment to its 2025–28 Board of Directors.
The nomination process aims to recruit individuals with experience and expertise in key areas that drive local economic growth, including tourism, entrepreneurship, mining supply and services, advanced education, research and innovation, health services, and arts and culture.
Community members interested in contributing to economic development are invited to visit investsudbury.ca/board-of-directors to learn more and apply. The deadline to submit applications is 4 p.m. on Wednesday, October 8, 2025.
The Board meets monthly at 11:30 a.m. for approximately 1.5 to 2.5 hours. Subcommittees also meet regularly throughout the year. Appointments are for a three-year term.
The nomination process reflects the GSDC’s commitment to ensuring members bring the necessary experience and expertise to support the Board’s economic development goals, while also honouring and representing the diversity of the Greater Sudbury community.
Nominations are guided by the GSDC Diversity Statement and the City of Greater Sudbury Diversity Policy, which support diversity in all its forms. This includes, but is not limited to, age, disability, economic circumstance, marital status, ethnicity, gender, gender identity and expression, race, religion, and sexual orientation. Consideration is also given to demographic and geographic representation across Greater Sudbury.
